    Carlos Lopez, P.E.

    Parsons Transportation Group

    Carlos Lopez is a Senior Highway Engineer with Parsons Transportation Group (PTG) in Newark, NJ. He is a licensed engineer in NJ and an alumnus of NJIT with a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Civil Engineering. After graduating in 2011, he worked as a junior engineer for 3 years with Stantec before joining PTG. He has worked on various interchange reconstruction projects in NJ and the Goethals Bridge Replacement Project. He is currently working on the I-81 Viaduct Project in Syracuse, NY. Carlos has been actively involved with the YMG since 2013, holding the positions of NJIT Practitioner Advisor, Professional Development Chair and President-Elect. Carlos is currently serving as YMG President.

    Silvia Santos, EIT

    DeSimone Consulting Engineers

    Silvia graduated in 2014 with her B.S. in civil engineering from NJIT. Currently she is working on her M.S. in structural engineering part-time at Columbia University and working full time as a Project Engineer at DeSimone Consulting Engineers. Engineering the skyscrapers of tomorrow may be her passion, but contributing to the engineering field through organizations such as ASCE are what truly leave her feeling fulfilled. After being involved in various organizations in college, she decided to continue on with ASCE YMG soon after graduation.


    ASCE YMG has offered Silvia a great opportunity to network with people from across the country and make new lifelong friendships.

    Daniel Borges, EIT

    DeSimone Consulting Engineers

    Dan Borges graduated New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2014 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil Engineering and Steven's Institute of Technology in 2016 with a Master's of Engineering degree in Structural Engineering. He currently works as a Structural Engineer at DeSimone Consulting Engineers out of New York City.


    Dan has actively been a part of the North Jersey YMG since 2014 and has served as Treasurer on the board for many years. Currently, he is serving as Vice President and hopes to expand his involvement in the YMG.

    Alexander Lee

    MFS Consulting Engineers

    Alex is currently a senior staff engineer in the structural department at MFS Consulting Engineers, a multi-discipline civil engineering firm headquartered in South Plainfield, NJ. He enjoys hiking, playing softball, and loyally following his baseball (Phillies), hockey (Flyers), and football (Eagles) teams. Before serving as the YMG treasurer, Alex was President of the ASCE Chapter at Stevens Institute of Technology.

    Elizabeth Rophael, EIT

    Sussex County Division of Engineering

    Elizabeth is graduate of the Rutgers University School of Engineering Class of 2012 where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Upon graduating Elizabeth began working at the County of Sussex Division of Engineering and has since been developing her career there. She manages many of the Division's capital roadway projects as well as grants for roadway safety enhancement projects. Through her involvement with YMG as Secretary, she hopes to expand her professional network and give back to the Civil Engineering community.

    Chris Hanna

    T&M Associates

    Christopher M. Hanna is a licensed Professional Enigneer in the State of New Jersey and works for T&M Associates as a Construction Manager and a Municpal Engineer, where he also helps lead the Young Professionals Group and chairs the Mentoring Program. Since joining the North Jersey Branch 4 years ago, Chris has served on the YMG board as Social Chair, Student Chapter Liaison, and most recently as President. Chris is also the Construction Technical Group chair for North Jersey Branch. Chris enjoys speaking to young students of all ages about what Civil Engineers do and career opportunities in our industry. Chris is also an adjunct professor at NJIT in the Civil Engineering Dept.

    Rebecca Citrin, EIT

    Langan Engineering


    Rebecca received her B.S. in Civil Engineering from Lafayette College and is currently working as a staff engineer for Langan Engineering. Rebecca is entering her second year as the Social Chair of the ASCE YMG of NJ. During her undergraduate career, Rebecca was also the Social Chair for the Lafayette College ASCE Chapter.


    Rebecca has enjoyed being a part of the ASCE YMG Board, which has given her the opportunity to network with other engineers in her field. She enjoys organizing social events, which allows for civil engineers to partake in networking opportunities in a social setting.

  • K-12 Outreach Chair

    Milton Padron

    AECOM

    Milton Padron is a Structural Engineer at AECOM in the New York One Penn Office. He graduated in 2014 with his B.S. in civil engineering from NJIT. He is currently a candidate for Masters of Science in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Structural Engineering at NJIT. Milton has 3 of year of experience in analysis and design of structures; he has worked on projects such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Rehabilitation of Main Span, Approaches, and Ramps and many other transportation projects.


    On his free time he enjoys playing soccer, hiking, dancing, reading, meeting new people and volunteering which serves perfect for his position at the YMG.


    Milton has been actively involved with the YMG for the past two years, serving as the K-12 outreach chair, where he has been involved in many events in efforts to promote our wonderful career to the future Civil Engineers of our nation. Through his involvement with the YMG he had the opportunity of network and become friends with great people from across the nation and hopes to continue growing in his career as well as bringing Civil Engineering to kids from all areas of New Jersey.

    Matthew Travilla

    A&A Industrial Piping

    Matthew has received his B.S. at Fairleigh Dickinson University and currently serves as a Practitioner Advisor. He currently works for A&A Industrial Piping, Inc. and is working on the World Trade Center Transportation Hub. During his time at FDU, he was a member of the Concrete Canoe Team and eventually became the Secretary of the Student Chapter Executive Board.
